MR ALI AL-SABTI, MB BCH FRCS
Mr Al-Sabti is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in all aspects of Surgery / Treatment of shoulders. After completing his training in the UK, Mr Al-Sabti spent several years working in Saudi Arabia, before his appointment in 1995 as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust. During his time with the Trust, Mr Al Sabti has pioneered a One Stop Shoulder Clinic, a new and innovative way of diagnosing and treating patients presenting with a wide and varied range of shoulder complaints. He elected to specialise in orthopaedics after developing a special interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee, especially new procedures such as arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction following sports injuries. As a result of his involvement in sports injuries, he became interested in shoulder surgery in athletes and subsequently expanded his area of shoulder surgery - particularly arthroscopic shoulder surgery. At this time this was a fairly new procedure and over the past few years, arthroscopic shoulder surgery has enjoyed an explosion of interest from orthopaedic surgeons. Arthroscopic surgery has a clear advantage over open procedures - the field of vision is magnified by about 20 times and thus more detail is available. Also a number of conditions are best diagnosed and treated arthroscopically. Mr Al-Sabti is happy to see patients with all shoulder conditions and injuries including sports injuries, as well as general orthopaedic cases. Since 1995, Mr Al-Sabti's private practice has been based at Spire Hartswood Hospital and the Essex Nuffield Hospital which are both located in Brentwood, Essex. He has also recently undertaken to practice at the Cromwell Hospital in London. Patient referrals are usually made through the General Practitioner. Personal Interests : Sports cars, F1 motor racing, remote control airplanes
